Objective
The objective of the Center is the classification and compaction of PET so that it can be transformed and used again in the production process, closing the PCR production cycle.
Generation of Alliances for Collection
That allows the materialization of the public policy of circular economy, through the participation of different actors that consolidate a project of social, environmental and economic impact.
Projected environmental benefits
Estimated monthly projection based on a minimum monthly collection figure of:
5 tons of PET
1 ton of HDPE
Which would contribute to generating the following environmental benefits:
Expected impacts of the PET collection center
REDUCING INEQUALITIES
By offering employment and strengthening the work of recyclers, we contribute to reducing social and economic inequalities.
IMPROVING WATER AND AIR QUALITY
By reducing plastic waste and emissions related to virgin plastic production, water and air quality are improved, positively impacting public health.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
The project will inspire and support community initiatives related to PET recycling and waste management.
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Promoting the development of new products from food-grade recycled resin, expanding the applications of recycled material
INNOVATION AND COMPETITIVENESS
We will promote innovation in industrial processes and increase the competitiveness of the recycling sector in Colombia, with a direct impact on the department of Anquioquia. Currently, INVIMA has less than 10 certifications/permits for companies to work with food grade resin in Colombia, which represents a great opportunity.
ENERGY SAVING
Recycling PET consumes less energy than manufacturing new plastic, which contributes to a lower carbon footprint in the industrial process.
NEW JOBS
The operation of the PET Collection Center will create direct jobs in areas such as collection, classification, processing and administration.
DECENT WORK FOR INFORMAL RECYCLERS
Decent work for recyclers, providing them with better working and living conditions.
TRAINING AND CAPACITY-BUILDING
Training programs to improve the skills and knowledge of recyclers, promoting safer and more dignified work.
REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
The production of food-grade recycled resin generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to the production of virgin plastic.
Let’s work together
Teamwork and strategic alliances are key to driving great changes. Because each project we execute is not simply an initiative, it is a firm step towards a better world.
Join us on this exciting journey, together we can create significant changes, leaving a positive mark on the planet and on the lives of those who call it home.
